Girls With Confidence is thrilled to announce its expansion into Africa. Previously, programs were held only in the Tampa Bay area of Florida and suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As of August, Ann Mugisha of Shepard’s House Childcare Ministries in Uganda has begun to lead girls with our confidence building curriculum.

The aim of Shepard’s House is to raise, nurture and educate orphaned, needy, and destitute children of the district Mpigi situated in Uganda. They help children regardless of race, religion, or sex especially in the areas of providing education, medical care, and residential care. They look for support from friends all over the world to partner with to give these children the future they deserve.

Besides the Confident Girls sessions being held at the school, an International Pen Pal program has also begun. Girls from Shepard’s House have been partnered with girls from all over the Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh areas and letter writing has commenced. Ages of the participants range from five to sixteen years old.
