Position Overview

Our Part-Time Instructors are responsible for leading and supporting confidence-building programs for children through engaging discussions, activities, crafts, games, and hands-on experiences.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with children, has strong communication skills, brings positive energy, and understands the importance of creating an inclusive environment where every child feels supported.

This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about youth development, education, social-emotional learning, leadership, or making a positive impact in their community.

Responsibilities

Lead and assist with workshops, camps, after-school programs, and special events
Create a welcoming and encouraging environment where children feel comfortable being themselves
Facilitate discussions and activities focused on confidence, leadership, communication, friendships, and personal growth
Build positive relationships with children while serving as a mentor and role model
Encourage participation and engagement from all children
Support classroom/camp management and maintain a safe environment
Prepare materials, crafts, activities, and supplies before programs
Assist with setup and cleanup before and after programs
Communicate professionally with staff, families, volunteers, and community partners
Provide feedback and observations to help improve programming

Qualifications

Required:

Experience working with children (classroom, camp, childcare, mentoring, coaching, volunteering, etc.)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Positive attitude and ability to encourage children of varying personalities and abilities
Dependable, organized, and able to take initiative
Comfortable speaking in front of groups
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:

Experience leading groups of children
Background in education, psychology, child development, social work, or related fields
Experience facilitating social-emotional learning activities
CPR/First Aid certification
